形态描述：植株高达60厘米。假鳞茎圆柱形，长约10厘米，粗8毫米，具4-5节，节间长约2厘米，常被残留的纤维，具1-2枚鞘和2-3枚叶。叶在花期全部展开，纸质，宽椭圆形，长12-17厘米，宽7-8厘米，先端具短尖，基部收狭为长约8厘米的鞘状柄，两面无毛，边缘稍波状。花葶从叶腋抽出，直立，长约50厘米，密被短毛，中部以下具2枚紧贴的筒状鞘；总状花序长约11厘米，疏生10余朵花；花苞片宿存，草质，狭披针形，比花梗和子房短，长10-17毫米，先端渐尖，无毛；花梗和子房长2-2.5厘米，密被短毛；花大，萼片和花瓣淡紫色，唇瓣淡黄色；中萼片宽卵圆形，长15毫米，中部宽6-7毫米，先端急尖并呈芒状，全缘，具5条脉，背面被短毛；侧萼片斜卵形，长15毫米，基部上方宽7-8毫米，先端急尖并呈芒状，全缘，具5条脉，背面密被短毛；花瓣长圆形，长15毫米，中部宽4.5毫米，先端急尖并呈芒状，具3条脉，无毛；唇瓣的轮廓近肾形，基部具狭长的爪，与蕊柱中部以下的蕊柱翅合生，宽约2厘米，深2裂，裂口深约为唇瓣全长的2/5，其中央具1条长约1毫米的芒；裂片近斧头状，先端圆钝，边缘啮蚀状，两面无毛；唇盘无褶片和其他附属物；距长圆锥形，长约2毫米，末端稍钝，无毛；蕊柱粗短，长5毫米，上端稍扩大，无毛；蕊喙2裂；花粉团稍扁的卵球形，大小相等；粘盘狭长圆形，长约1毫米。花期10月。
